Art of the Coast was created

to showcase the work of myself, E Ann Smith and my husband, Howard Smith.

Married and both artists we create separately but together.

Howard Smith has been painting for 60 years and is very accomplished over many mediums.

As an aboriginal artist it seems to be a natural way of life.

Everything Howard builds shows his artistic nature.

A simple walking stick will turn into a work of art in his hands.

I (EAnn Smith) have been painting and drawing for only 5 years.

I have been  learning to paint and draw with the encouragement of  my husband Howard.

Currently I am doing 'A Painting A Day' and you can see the works on this website in one of my galleries or go to my blog.

Although I did learn batik and drawing at an early age

I never really spent quality time developing my skills til just a few years ago.

I hope to move into some larger works myself in the next year.

We have done some cruising up the coast of BC and enjoy living on the water in our boat.

Our Boat El Vencedor

MV Elvencedor

Our boat is a small space to paint so we have decided

to spend 2010 in Victoria to work in a larger space.

We rented a studio and are working on larger pieces and Howard especially is working on some new techniques. You are invited to visit the studio to see the new works in progress.

Just email us and make an appointment.

We have included two galleries on this site.

We hope that you enjoy our work as much as we enjoy creating it.

Some things are for sale.

Just contact us if you see something you like. elvencedor1965@gmail.com
